    Description

Packed in factory-sealed sprue bags are parts and decals to make one of two late war Fw 190D-9 aircraft from either 4./JG301 or Stab./JG4 with appropriate decals and paint guides. As with most Tamiya kits, it builds easily into a well-detailed model suitable for experienced and novice modelers alike.
The kit represents the Luftwaffe's final major fighter of the war, which began production in June 1944 and entered service in September that same year. The late war version (of the approximately 1,800 built) has the so-called "Galland hood" blown canopy, and the kit features decals for the seat belts and instrument panel, along with an optional 300-litre drop tank.
A "flat" canopy is also enclosed for a modeler wanting to depict an earlier aircraft using aftermarket decals, and both canopies can be depicted either open or closed. The instruction leaflet has easy-to-follow building steps and incorporates full views of the two paint and marking schemes.
The successful Fw 190D-9 was primarily used for fighter interception leaving less capable aircraft to engage bomber formations and was found to be a dangerous adversary by Allied pilots. The kit has been stored in my smoke-free home. It will be shipped by First Class Mail.
