Up for sale is a vintage copy of “The Technique of Rug Weaving” by Peter Collingwood.
This book belongs to the seller.
It is a signed copy.
The history of the book—I was a professional weaver and our Weaving Guild in Missoula, MT. invited Peter Collingwood to come to our town and do a week long workshop on the technique of Shaft Switching.
The book was our
reference resource.
At the end of the workshop, several of us in the seminar actually ordered rugs from Peter.
He also signed his reference book.
These were large area rugs that were made from custom designs and special orders.
We received our rugs from England about
4-6 months later and the cost was around 0.
This was a lot of money to spend on a handwoven rug in those days.
I am no long weaving and have sold all of my looms and most of my reference books.
I would like to pass this book on to a weaver because it isn’t often that signed copies come along.
